ITEC Beauty Specialist Diploma Course Bundle

This is an intensive Beauty Specialist internationally recognised diploma Course covering the following areas:

• Skincare and Eye Treatments: Theory and Practical
• Make up: Theory and practical
• Manicure and Pedicure; Theory and practical
• Waxing: Theory and practical
• Business and professional conduct

Syllabus-Facial Section  Anatomy & Physiology

General study of the subjects to include cells, tissues and the main systems of the body - muscular, vascular (circulation), skeletal, digestive, respiratory, lymphatic, excretory, nervous, endocrine and reproductive, as they relate to the work of the beautician.

Skin  -  Detailed study of the skin and its appendages - hair and nails, skin disorders and contra-indications to salon or home

Facial Massage -  Theory and effects of massage. Contra-indications to massage. Skin types and conditions - how to recognise and advise on the corrective treatments. Masks and compresses. Choice and use of preparations. Specialised facial treatments - knowledge of methods used generally in practice, e.g. skin peeling. Different treatments based on age groups.

Eyes  -  Eyebrow shaping - eyelash and eyebrow tinting. Application of eye make up and false lashes. Contra-indications to eyelash tinting or cosmetic application.

Superflous Hair - Treated by the following methods, each discussed and studied in detail: Depilatory waxing - hot and cool waxing, Deplilatory creams, Bleaching. Contra-indications.

Make-up - The practice and art of make up, using a variety of products of various types and makes. Corrective make up. i.e. correction of bad features and perfecting good features. Colour planning and harmony in make up. Fixing and shaping artificial eyelashes. Eye make up in all forms.

In addition to the theory necessary to understand the subjects, the course covers: Business organisation, Cosmetic science including cream making. Ethics, First Aid, Salon procedure and management, client record cards, hygiene and grooming.

Manicure and pediure - Nail care, structure of the nail, conditions and diseases of the nails. Causes of nail disorders and treatments. Manicure and pedicure procedure, hand and foot massage.

The only other cost to you is your exam fees which usually is €115 and a uniform and study books.

Next Course Date:

Part-time 1 day per week (Monday) commencing in September 2013 with examinations in May 2014

Part-time one day per week (Saturdays) commencing September 2013 with exams in late May 2014

Cost of Course: €2000 - (€500 to book your place, €500 on the first day of the course, €500 by Nov 30th and €500 by Jan 30th)

Other costs:     Books, Uniform approx €50 to €60, and Exam fees approx €115 and student makeup kit at discounted price €185

Acceptance to this course is interviewed based and students must be 17 years of age by their ITEC exam dates

All students will be obliged to take out student insurance, which will cover them to work on colleagues, models provided by the college or on family and friends at home. This is a moderate cost of approx €30 to €40.
